Rhea--wouldn't it be great to see Young@Heart in person. I think the chorus tours so if they come this way, I plan to see them for the fun and inspiration of it.

Rod--Bet your mom will love the movie because of the singing. One of the things Mom loves is the senior karoke at her assisted living facility. Funny how so many of the residents still know the words to the songs they used to sing as kids and young adults. Last time I was there, I had to laugh as I wondered what songs they'll play when I'm 88 and at senior karoke. Maybe Motown or the Beatles?

Celeste--How interesting that you say your mother became like your child near the end. My sister and I always talk about midlife as a time when we've been parenting our parents. Thanks for sharing this and for the encouragement.

Karen -

You write of your mother frequently. I can only guess what you are actually going through. Although the last two years of my mother's life here on this wonderful earth were difficult for my brother as well as myself. I loved her so much. She was like a daughter to me at the end. As I indicated before to you Karen, be with your mother as much as you can. I still hold those wonderful memories close and sometime visualize her standing in front of me saying "Celeste how are things with you?"... I always reply "Great Mom - things are just as they should be".

Karen - it will get better for you !

Should be an interesting movie. My mother just turned 80 and is also afflicted with Alzheimer's....I'll take her to see it. Although she never fails to state/ask, "You don't think I look my age, do you?" The Life force and creativity is strong in folks that age, too.

Thanks, KB!
