“Sound Off” Monday

Posted on 23. Jun, 2008 by Karen in Misc

Today is “sound off” Monday here at Midlife’s A Trip.  That means it’s your day to sound off on issues, large and small, that are:

  • Important to you
  • Bugging you
  • Puzzling you
  • Inspiring you
  • Cracking you up
  • Blocking you
  • Boring you or
  • Making you sad, glad or happier.

To be frank, I love to brainstorm about what you might want to read here– what gets you up in the morning and what keeps you up at night.  And I just love when you take time to comment.  It’s amazingly inspirational to me.

So this is your opportunity to give me feedback and fodder for future postings that will make you want to tune in here and tune out of the rat-race for a few minutes.

So sound off on what matters to you and know that I’m listening.

I signed up for a course of training sessions at the gym, to the tune of almost a thousand bucks. I don’t like my trainer. I don’t think she likes me either. Last week I played hooky on Wed and Fri. This week I cancelled for tomorrow. I have about six session left and part of me say–get them over with real fast. But the other part of me CAN”T BEAR IT. Also–here’s the hard part–I don’t want to continue after this and she is expecting me to. Oh woe….glad you asked?

Jane–actually I’m glad you answered. What I hear you saying here is that you don’t want to continue the training. I also hear you saying you don’t want to waste the money you’ve already paid.

Well Jane, you can take the blogger out of the coach, but you can’t take the coach out of the blogger. So here are 6 questions the coach in me would ask to see if there’s another way to look at this situation:

    1) What are you saying “no” to — the trainer or the training?
    2) What are you avoiding?
    3) What is your intuition telling you to do?
    4) What do you really want?
    5) What result would surpass your expectations?
    6) What’s the first step you can take to get that result?

I’d love to hear what you think of the questions and thanks for “sounding off”! This was the perfect day for this post.

    Karen
