Becky--it really is all about what our experience has been. Yes sometimes I do wonder why people stay where the weather is so extreme--and yet complain along the way about what we have up here. But my perspective sure did shift this weekend. Thanks for sharing yours!

Yvonne--I can imagine being in a hurricane by myself. OMG! I can see why you like Michigan's weather better although I might debate you on whether we really have 4 seasons. Sometimes it seems like we just slide out of winter into summer without much of what you can call spring. But summer and fall in Michigan are beautiful.

Karen, I have lived in Michigan the last 20 years. I was in Hurricane Alicia BY MYSELF in my Houston townhouse back in the early eighties. Believe me, the snows of Michigan are minor as compared to the rain, wind and distruction of a Hurricane.

Also, Michigan has four seasons, as compared to two in Texas: Hot and Monsoon. I'll take Michigan's climate any day.

Take it easy.

Funny, but I've never lived further north than Dallas, so I'm always wondering "Why do all those crazy people stay up there with all the snow?" or "Why do all those crazy people stay on the west coast, with all those earthquakes?" It never occurred to me until just now, that you guys are all asking "Why do those crazy people stay down there with all those hurricanes?" I guess it's just whatever you are used to.
