Today is Sunday and where I am it’s dreary and rainy. Not that I’m complaining — no truly I’m glad that it’s not dreary and snowy. But it’s one of those days for lazying around and surfing the Internet to find stuff to share with you here on Midlife’s A Trip.
On my “travels” [...]

This is Bijou — the other half of Bijou and Coco Puff, my 2 cats.  This is also Bijou with an attitude, which she has had since her trip to the vet’s earlier this week.  You see my cats don’t like to go out of the house — ever.  They give new meaning to the [...]

Black in America

This summer on July 23 and 24, CNN is airing a 6 hour documentary on what it’s like to be Black in America .  In the promo they point out that the program “isn’t just about Black people, it’s about Black Americans”.  As I put these dates on my Outlook calendar, I got to thinking about what it’s been [...]

George Carlin on Stuff

Posted on 24. Jun, 2008 by Karen.

I don’t know about you but I just loved listening to irreverent anti-establishment comedian George Carlin who died yesterday at age 71. His ability to turn a crude phrase hilarious and thought-provoking at the same time made him one of the most popular comics of our Boomer generation.
Carlin never cleaned up his act. [...]

Blocking you
Boring you or
Making you sad, glad or happier.

To be frank, I love to brainstorm about what you might want to read here– what gets you up [...]

Today was my mom’s 89th birthday.  One of the greatest gifts Mom got today was a visit from Sitella, her best friend.  Sitella drove over to be with us for the birthday celebration.  She’s almost 80 and she and Mom have been friends for almost 50 years.
These two have had so much fun together over the years.  Both [...]

Dance With My Father Again

On this Father’s Day, I started off just fine. But as I was getting ready for church, it hit me — the pain of losing my father. It’s been over 5 years since he died but you would have thought that it was yesterday. I miss him so much. He was [...]

Tim Russert, the favorite political pundit of millions of Americans, including me, died of an apparent heart attack today at the young age of 58.  What an incredible tragedy!
According to reports, he collapsed and died at work.  He had just gotten back from a family vacation in Italy in celebration of his son’s graduation from college.
If [...]

In honor of My Best Friend
Is it Alzheimer’s?
Get a Web Ribbon

The only good thing about Alzheimers is that scientists are hard at work to find to find a cure for this wicked disease that will affect 10 million Baby Boomers in the United States alone.  It’s already affected my best friend.
So today I decided to put [...]
